چکیده

This paper reports that the in situ growth magnetic field (Hg) during magnetic-phase CoFeB deposition impacts electric-field control of anisotropy Co40Fe40B20/(011)-Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)0.7Ti0.3O3 [CoFeB/(011)-PMN-PT] composite multiferroic heterostructures at room temperature. In Hg1 mode (in Hg along [011¯] direction ferroelectric PMN-PT substrate), electric-field-controlled modulation ratios coercivity HC and saturation HS are approximately −47% +156%, respectively. However, Hg2 [100] substrate) CoFeB/(011)-PMN-PT heterostructure, can reach as high +162% +393%, Moreover, coercive exhibits a butterfly shape when plotted versus applied electric fields both modes, which matches in-plane strain loop substrate. presents square loop, is very consistent with result may be ascribed to distinct pathway ferroelastic domain switching (011)-oriented study provides new idea for design spintronic devices based on heterostructures.

Reversible strain control of magnetic anisotropy in magnetoelectric heterostructures at room temperature

The ability to tune both magnetic and electric properties in magnetoelectric (ME) composite heterostructures is crucial for multiple transduction applications including energy harvesting or magnetic field sensing, or other transduction devices. While large ME coupling achieved through interfacial strain-induced rotation of magnetic anisotropy in magnetostrictive/piezoelectric multiferroic heter...

Origin of room-temperature perpendicular magnetic anisotropy in Ni/Pt multilayers

Room-temperature perpendicular magnetic anisotropy ~PMA! was observed in Ni/Pt multilayer films having 7–30 Å Ni and constant 3 Å Pt sublayer thickness, prepared by magnetron sputtering at an Ar sputtering pressure of 7 mTorr. To understand the origin of PMA, the magnetoelastic anisotropy was determined from delicate in situ stress and ex situ magnetostriction coefficient measurements. Tensile ...

Observation of perpendicular magnetic anisotropy in Ni/Pt multilayers at room temperature

We report the experimental observation of room-temperature perpendicular magnetic anisotropy in Ni/Pt multilayers having 7–26 Å Ni and 2.3–4.6 Å Pt layer thicknesses, prepared by dc magnetron sputtering on glass substrates at 7 mTorr Ar sputtering pressure. Perpendicular magnetic anisotropy was found to be sensitively dependent on both Niand Pt-layer thicknesses, and a maximum anisotropy energy...

magnetic dispersion and anisotropy in multiferroic BiFeO3.

We have determined the full magnetic dispersion relations of multiferroic BiFeO3. In particular, two excitation gaps originating from magnetic anisotropies have been clearly observed. The direct observation of the gaps enables us to accurately determine the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya (DM) interaction and the single ion anisotropy. The DM interaction supports a sizable magnetoelectric coupling in thi...

Room-temperature perpendicular magnetic anisotropy in Ni/Pd „111... multilayers

We report the experimental observation of room-temperature perpendicular magnetic anisotropy ~PMA! in Ni/Pd ~111! multilayer films having the thickness range of 5–11 Å Ni and 4–11 Å Pd sublayers, prepared by direct current magnetron sputtering on glass substrates at Ar sputtering pressure of 7 mTorr. Perpendicular magnetic anisotropy was found to be sensitively dependent on both Niand Pd-sublay...
